In class we were required to paint something inspired by the book of Joel. I found this project to be extremely intriguing, as it really allowed me to zone in on what the scripture was about, especially on a personal level.
I was particularly drawn to the line " Return to me with all your heart."
These words were so powerful to me. I was able to reflect on how God wants all of us to return to Him under all circumstances. Even when we fall away from Him, He is always there, beckoning us to come back. This passage truly reminded me how merciful and faithful the God we serve is.
I love the way you talk about how merciful and faithful God is. This rings so true in my life and I think in the society and mindset that we live in we forget about this so often. We for some reason compare Him to man on earth and in His word He says He is never like man, He will never fail us; yet we sill doubt that He is merciful and will take us back in a heart beat because He loves us undonitionally. Great point to make about 'returning to him with all our heart.'
ReplyDeleteMan your painting is so nice. I dont see how you just thought of something like that in the time we had to do it, but good job! and yes I love how God is always there for us too, couldnt agree more... well in my life anyway He has been there for me so much. It's because of His beautiful grace that I am the christian I am today. Praise God
ReplyDeleteI love your picture. It was done very nicely. It makes me dislike my artistic abilities, or lack of artistic abilities. I also love your quote.
ReplyDeleteI really like that line in Joel "Return to me with all your heart", it reminds me that God doesn't just want a piece of usd. He wants all of us (broken, sin-filled, back-slidden)...He wants us. He is not worried about your condition, He wants to show us compassion (There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit). Man I love the Lord. Oh by the way nice pic and post. ;-)
